In 2006, during a car forum in Swiss Geneva, the D8 Peking-to-Paris crossover concept was demonstrated, which was represented by a little-known Dutch company Spyker. The car was positioned as the first supercrosword and aroused genuine interest from the public and specialists.
Seven years have passed since that moment, and now the specialists of the Dutch manufacturer decided to revive this project. As the director of the company Viktor Muller noted, the development of the car is almost completed and it can only be launched into the series. Manufacturers count on the annual production volume of a thousand copies, which will mainly be delivered to the Middle East, the USA, China and Russia.
There is information that the company’s motorists use a 6.2 -liter engine similar to the installed on Chevrolet Corvette Z06. This power unit in eight cylinders gives out 647 horsepower, but the Dutch hope to increase this indicator to a level of 700-750 “horses”.
