Shortly before the start of the car dealership in Geneva, Porsche confirmed that his upcoming compact crossover will be called “Macan”.
In the latest spy photographs, Macan was captured during tests on Nordschlya in the conditions of heavy rain. We can see that even on a slippery highway, the car confidently keeps the way. This allows us to conclude that the compact Macan crossover has a sports disposition.
Macan production is expected to begin at the end of 2013. The novelty will be built on the same platform with Audi Q5. In addition, cars will receive similar power units. We can see a 3.0-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 300 horsepower. It is also worth expecting the appearance of a gasoline V-6, which can please owners with a capacity of 370 horsepower. The basic modification of the crossover will be equipped with a 220-horsepower installation.
Apparently, the German automaker will refuse this model from a mechanical gearbox, in favor of a PDK with a double clutch.
Macan will be offered in three- and five-door performance.
